Relink frames

PostSat May 25, 2024 11:54 am

I have set up several projects. The problem is, that I have changed the names of the original frames, so I cannot use the relink feature to link the frames again to the timeline.

Is there a way to relink the new frame names to the timeline without having to rename the frames back to their original names?

I suppose you mean clips, not frames. Try to re-conform instead of relink.
But changing file names was a really bad idea!
You can always give your clips a new name inside of DR without any negative consequences.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

If you're talking about individual frames of still images that have been imported as a sequence to make them behave like a video clip, the names have to be identical except for a sequence number at the end. If some of the frames have a name that doesn't match the rest in the sequence then you'll need to rename them so that they do.

If you're talking about an actual video clip, or if you're talking about all of the frames in a sequence having been renamed, then go into the Media Pool, right-click on the broken item, and instead of choosing "Relink selected clips" choose "Replace selected clips".

If the replaced clip or sequence is of a different length then the original then you may have some more work to do to adjust keyframes, etc.

Thanks for the clarifications. They are individual frames, so I guess I am going to have to redo all the work again as I do not want to rename them their original names.

Hey

Yep, it was a bad idea... However, you might want either to force relinking (right click > conform lock to MP file) or use a batch rename utility at OS level and get back to original names before importing again
