Capture With Pocket Cinema 4k

PostSat May 25, 2024 6:31 am

Hiii ~ !

I recently bought my first pocket cinema 4k and was hoping to use it to record directly to resolve’s timeline, using the capture window. I have the camera connected to a MSI pc and it records fine with OBS. Resolve says it doesn’t recognize it though. How can I fix this? Is a capture device like Atem or UltraStudio necessary? I’d prefer to avoid buying those if I can manage to.

I think you should abandon the idea and record BRAW in the camera, then copy the files to your Media drive after wards.

Capture over cables will not give you your money's worth in video quality.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

I don’t mind losing some quality. Ideally, I want to record at 4k but if only 1080p is possible, I wouldn’t mind going even that low. I don’t plan on color grading the majority of video either. The camera is going to be used to record Youtube videos in a studio. So, editing speed is a higher priority than quality.
