(bug) "Render all" button is usually missing

PostThu Nov 07, 2024 1:39 am

The job list on the Deliver page frequently won't display the "Render all" button.

This is annoying, but the obvious question is why there aren't simply two buttons, with "Render all" and "Render [n]" available at all times. There's a ton of room available.

This is Studio 19.0.3 on Mac.

Deselect the highlighted item in the render queue. It’s designed to render the selections.

Thanks for the reply.

There is no apparent way to deselect the job. In the video, when you see the little circle appear around the cursor, it means I'm clicking. Note that doing so does not deselect the job.

I've never had this happen. Very odd.

To rule out the obvious...

1. Are you left-clicking?
2. What happens if you restart DR?

Thanks. And yes, I'm left-clicking!

It happens all the time, surviving restarts.

Regardless, it's still absurd not to have both buttons all the time.

"Render all" button shows up when you are not selecting a job and Render Render1 shows up when you click click on a particular job in the que. Haven't you figured that one yet?

KrunoSmithy, that's twice I've seen you be a dick to someone for no good reason.

You can see in his video that he's trying to click outside the jobs and DR isn't de-selecting anything.

Really weird behaviour. Is it possible that the top item in the render queue has already been rendered and therefore there is only a single item in that list that can be rendered? A long shot and I'm sorry if you already covered this in your video.

I have been able to reproduce this, all be it on a Windows machine. I noticed you had a scroll bar to the right of the jobs. I have discovered that when this is the case it sometimes ignores the left click. So you could try making the window larger by dragging the divider down. The other thing to try would be the 'Refresh' option accessible from the top right three dots.

Thanks guys. Interesting to know that the problem is cross-platform.

Usually after 10 clicks or so in random areas the button will switch. I'll try messing with the scrollbar. I think going up and clearing all statuses may do it too.

While I can't reproduce the behaviour you experience, you can also hold the left mouse button and brush over all the entries you want to render.
Plus, "Refresh" from the 3-dot menu will deselect all.

The reason it's seemingly inconsistent is that once you get a scroll bar in that list, clicking outside an item isn't enough. You have to click+drag to create an empty selection. Sometimes when you click you accidentally drag it a pixel or two which can make it work.

I find it's the same on both Windows and macOS.

I wonder how much programming time was wasted trying to make one button flip-flop, instead of just having two buttons.
