subclips - where do I find them when created?

PostTue Nov 12, 2024 11:12 am

the title says it all:

I can create a subclip with choosind in and out point and hitting Alt-B, but then the sub clip does not appear as a note under the original clip as i would expect (I think) but is just not there.

What I would like to achieve: I have a longer video file and would like to get usable bits and pieces sorted out with subclips, before arranging them in the timeline. Honestly i just did this in lightworks and other NLE s that way , but never tried in resolve.

You get a separate subclip. If you create a Bin just for the subclips and have it selected when using Alt+B in the Media page, they will be placed there.
One thing I have noticed is that subclips are not being labelled with the "Subclip" suffix in the bins. They do show in the Media Pool List view though.

This is very helpful Charles, thank you !!

I will test this and see if this makes sense for my workflow. As you mentioned they do not get labelled and I fear to inject more chaos in my bins and lists.
