resolve doesn't quit 100%

PostTue Oct 29, 2019 9:31 am

after some editing, and finally exiting resolve 16.1, resolve always leaves a little bit of processing left for windows (10) , according to the task manager. it seems it doesnt fully quit.

so this means that when i want to fire up resolve again, nothing happens. so everytime so far, i have to force quit resolve with the task manager first.

i see this happening with 3 different high end windows computers now. 1 is connected to an sql server, the other 2 not. the 2 mac's i tested it on were bahaving properly so far.

anyone else seeing this?

Not experiencing this behaviour on macOS - perhaps isolated to the Windows platform.

Same problem here. I had to kill the process a few times.

I've had something similar with 16.1 happen several times. But not since I stepped back to 16.1b3
viewtopic.php?f=21&t=101495&hilit=+reboot

When it happened, I looked for a process to kill but didn't see one. When you killed it, was it still the parent process running, or an orphaned child process?

This also happens for me on MacOS.

OS:
Code: Select all
MacOS 14.6.1 (23G93)

DaVinci
Code: Select all
Version: 19.0 Build 69

Closing it leaves an icon in the dock with the little "active process" dot under it. If I try to open the app again, nothing happens, I have to right-click on it and click "Force Quit" and then it crashes, at which point I can open it again.

Same problem. Resolve stays open in the background. Newest update, 19.0.1 when you exit out, and look at task manager, it stays open. When I do try to restart DaVinci, it won't open because it's already open. I have to force quit out and reopen it again.

19 seems to be full of lots of little microbugs that all are impacting eachother

OS: Windows 11
Systems: I have two a desktop and a laptop.

Desktop Specs: 3070 Nvidia with 8GB Vram, 64 RAM, Ryzen 7

Laptop Specs: 2060 Nvidia 6GB Vram, 64 GB ram i7

Both are windows 11 both using Davinci Studio 19.0.1

Getting the same issue. Resolve remains open in the dock (dot icon) after closing (cmd + Q). Force quitting seems to be the only option for now.

I would love a solution for this!

This is also happening to me. Stopped by the forum to see if there is a fix.... Fusion Studio also has the same behaviour on Windows 11.

This is happening with all the software in Mac OS, the same behavior i get with Affinity Photo , OBS, Office.

MacOS uses resources differently than Windows. Or simply put X button doesn't mean close for Apple :D

I have the same issue: the application stays active in the Windows Task Manager, and I have to kill the process there to relaunch Resolve.

There’s also something strange—I’m not sure if it’s a feature or a bug. Even after saving the project using CTRL+S, the program still asks me to save it again when I quit.
