Drag a video from the footage to the Time line

I am trying unsuccessfully to drag a video from the footage to the Time line without success. Although the file is MP4 and H.264 code.
what should i do

Maybe 10 bit? Free or Studio? Windows or Mac?

I can think of two general explanations here.

1. The operator isn't doing something correctly.

2. The software isn't doing something correctly.

I want to check on 1 before moving onto 2. Have you had a chance to complete any training, Shalom?
