Playhead placement

PostThu Mar 20, 2025 4:05 pm

I alternate between using the fixed playhead and moving playhead as both have their pros and cons. When using the moving playhead it resets to the middle of the timeline view once it reaches the end of the timeline view. There are times (often) when I would prefer for it to reset to the beginning of the timeline view instead. I'd rather see more of what's coming. The way it currently works effectively gives me half the screen real estate for the timeline view. When I'm away from my 34" monitor and using my 16" laptop this becomes more pronounced.

I've looked through the forums some but haven't yet found anything on this topic, so sorry if I'm covering old ground.

-Barry.

While the timeline is playing you can move the fixed playhead position by grabbing the timeline ruler area and dragging left or right.

I too feel the same way. Actually, sometimes I would like to see as much as possible _before_ the current playhead position, so I feel it would be great to have keyboard shortcut that would quickly cycle view between playhead is at the beginning -> middle -> end of timeline view.
