Hello
Im working my way through the Blackmagic basic training materials and have reached Lesson Two.
Lesson One takes you through making a rough cut. In Lesson Two we import a new timeline, along with some subclips, to learn how to further refine the edit, add some basic effects, etc.
Everything was going fine. I moved clips around, performed different types of edits, added B-Roll material and a short musical soundtrack, etc, and I shut down my Mac for the night.
In the morning when I relaunched things, all my edits were there, but suddenly there was no sound in the interviews.
The audio track is there, but it's a flat line and contains no sound.
The musical track still has sound, as do the B-Roll clips.
I believe the errant tracks were brought in as subclips when I I imported a new timeline...but everything was working at first, so its not like these imported subclips were missing sound when I brought them in. (I also tried re-importing the original interviews as a test, and those do have a properly working audio track attached)
Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
Id like to fix the problem for the tutorial, of course, but more importantly get an understanding of why this might happen in case I encounter it again.
Thanks mutely ahead of time.
Will
PS: attached is a screenshot of the various tracks in question. V1/A1 contain the interview so you can see the flat line, and below that you can see audio tracks with functioning sound forms.
