Ai music trim & extend issues

When using a music track on timeline and I apply the Ai tool to either shorten or lengthen the track, the music will cut out and goes silent but still shows there's a wave file to play. Once I restart the project' it will then play entire track, but when I adjust the length again for fine tuning it cuts out again.
This also applies to the exported file after being rendered on delivery page.
