Relight Surface Map Just Black

PostTue Apr 08, 2025 1:50 am

Hello,

I'm not sure why, but Relight seems to either consistently crash or just not work. When it fails it looks like this.

This is a rendered in place ProRes 4444 image. It also typically fails when I go direct to the fusion keyed source.

Currently, I have not been able to get it to load at all for this shot.

I have caching turned off. It seemed to fail more often with caching turned on before.

Hard to say.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I have a deadline and need to use Relight.

Thank you in advance!

For System Specs (if needed):
I'm on Windows 11 Pro 64 bit.
GTX 4080 with Studio Drivers.
AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3975WX 32-Cores 3.50 GHz
128 GB RAM

Loading from my 10 GB/s NAS. Dedicated 2tb Caching M.2 SSD.

You have two problems:
1) The Relight Map Preview box is ticked.
2) The input is set to Input 2, yet there's nothing in Input 2.

Hey thanks for the reply.

In that example, I had made that mistake. Normally, with the surface map setup, it works. But even after properly connecting that one, the surface map didn't output correctly.

When using it standalone without a surface map, it would regularly crash and output only a black screen. Causing me to have to restart Resolve to get it to start working again.

Appreciate the quick reply. Apologies for sharing a dumb screenshot.
