This is what I think is a fairlight bug. I am using resolve studio version 19.1.4. I have an ambisonic (first order) audio file in a timeline.
Steps
1- I set up the four channel wave file to be ambisonic first order in the clip attributes.
2- I then placed it in a timeline and set the track type to ambisonic first order.
3- I wasn't able to use the spherical panner for some reason, but found a workaround of bussing this track through an ambisonic first order bus in order to rotate and automate the spherical panner on this track.
4- This ambisonic bus was then outputted to my 5.1 main audio bus for this timeline.
Once I did this, it plays fine in this timeline and I can spherically pan the ambisonic track.
5- I then placed this timeline in another timeline. This master/parent timeline is also 5.1 for the main audio bus.
The audio of the ambisonic track is neither hearable, exports, nor is the waveform visible in the master/parent timeline. The other audio tracks from this timeline can be heard, do export, and their waveforms are visible. Am I correct in diagnosing this for a bug report? What user errors could I be doing? My current workaround is to move my ambisonic tracks to whichever timeline I am currently exporting. Do you have any other ideas for a work around?
