installation Davinci 20 beta on Win 11 Pro 64 x86

PostMon Apr 07, 2025 8:38 am

Hello, new to the forum!
I just installed beta 20 on the latest version 19, which worked flawlessly! The installation of beta 20 went smoothly without any problems, but when I open the DaVinci Resolve Studio exe, the introductory image appears on the screen, then nothing (in the processes, Resolve is open but seems stuck with 553 MB of memory consumption).
I should point out that on Windows 10 Pro, there are no problems, everything is fine.
"Latest NVIDIA driver 572.83 on both OSes."
Has anyone else had this problem?
Thank you in advance.

Re: installation DAVR STUDIO 20 BETA on WINDOWS 11 PRO 64 x8

For your information, i7 12700k 64GB DDR5 RTX 3090 Ti SSD Samsung 980 Pro Windows 11 Pro (DAV STUDIO WITH LICENSE).
Today I tried:
-uninstalling the latest NVIDIA Studio driver
-disabling the Intel GPU and multi-monitor capabilities in the BIOS
-updating the BIOS
-starting DAV.exe in compatibility mode
tried all of this in every way...
NOTHING WORKED!!! STILL the same problem except that the process is mounted and it's stuck at 750MB of memory!
However, on Windows 10, it starts fine with much more memory, several gigabytes...
To be continued, thanks for a little help!

Hello, no answers to my problem!? Has anyone had this problem? A little help please... would be great!
Yesterday I uninstalled version 20 to install 19 again and the same thing!!!! Same problem, so I can no longer open any version of DaVinci Resolve Studio!! I think Windows 11 is the problem since there are no problems with Windows 10!!!
I'll write directly to Blackmagic...

Moved to v20 sub forum.

Try un installing the GPU driver and then power down restart. Then install the latest studio driver.

Hello Peter, thank you so much for your reply!!!! So, I completely uninstalled DAV STUDIO 20 as well as all the NVIDIA drivers! Cleaned it up... and did what you wrote to me, but no change... In fact, the installation went well, however, when I open DAV, the opening launch photo appears for 1 second then disappears! In the Windows processes, DVD is there, seems blocked! But with only 540 MB of memory consumption! I'm not a beginner, but I don't understand what's going on! I even disabled all the security features, thinking that defender... was blocking, but it's the same thing! The most annoying thing is that even with an old version, it's the same!!! Really strange, and I feel like I'm the only one since no one has responded except you, dear Pierre... To be continued, so I'll try other things... Best regards.
Many thanks, Jean. FRANCE.

:D :D :D SOLVED!!!! Finally... Hello Peter and everyone...
I found the problem I mentioned in my posts!
You need to uninstall and delete everything related to TOPAZ VIDEO AI!!! Delete all Topaz Video AI files in the OFX plugin folder as well as in C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Video AI... And miraculously, DAV STUDIO 20 finally opens... Thanks, hoping this can help other videographers!
