Glow node bug in fusion

PostMon Jul 10, 2023 11:31 am

Hi all,

I've found a very annoying bug in Davinci Resolve.
I've created a 3d fusion that contains only a sphere with earth texture and tried to create atmosphere effect using glow node.

Image

Unfortunately the glow effect does not work correctly on seemingly random frames in some rectangular areas. If I change the nodes before the glow (ie. change Render node render mode from software to opengl), the failure also changes, other frames becomes bad with other rectangular areas. The behaviour is deterministic, after reloading the project the program produces the same error at the same frames.

I've tried free and studio version, actual release and beta also.
Tried workaround with render in place, same result.

How can I create a bug report?

Hi,

I ran into the same bug—also while trying to add an atmospheric glow around the Earth.
After some experimenting, I ended up using the Soft Glow node instead.
It seems the issue affects other blur nodes in Resolve as well.
