As a professional editor transitioning from Adobe Premiere Pro, one major workflow issue I’ve encountered in DaVinci Resolve is the lack of a reliable keyboard-only method to select and ripple-delete a gap under the playhead.
In Premiere, I can simply move the playhead over a gap and press a shortcut to ripple-delete it immediately. In Resolve, “Mark Clip” doesn’t recognize gaps, and there’s no native “Select Gap Under Playhead” function.
This seemingly small feature has a huge impact on editing speed, especially for editors working with tight deadlines and relying solely on keyboard workflows.
A built-in command like “Select Gap Under Playhead”, or extending “Mark Clip” to also work over gaps, would massively improve the editing experience — and likely help countless other editors migrating from Premiere.
Please consider this for a future update — it’s a tiny feature with major workflow benefits. Thank you!
