BM Speed Editor Close Up not working?

PostThu Apr 24, 2025 10:40 pm

Hello

I'm new to BM and also recently got the Speed Editor which I am finding my way around. There is one function that I'm struggling to get working and that is the Close Up feature. There doesn't seem to be a decent manual on this product as of yet.
My understanding is that if I have a 1080P timeline with 4K clips of a person talking then I can select a clip in the V1 track, press the Close Up button, and it will create a duplicate clip on V2 but zoomed in. That would be really useful. However, for me, it just creates a duplicate clip but not a zoomed in version, just at the same zoom level. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. If I have a 4K clip more than the timeline resolution, it should be able to have enough zoom. It does the same whether I have a V1 timeline clip selected or a source clip selected. Can anyone who uses the speed editor tell me how to get this feature working?

Thanks
Tim

It's is working on my system in both the Edit and Cut pages.
Though it is a feature I don't use, it seems that the default length of the created closeup clip is 5 seconds. I don't know if this default can be changed, but you can always lengthen or shorten the shot using the trim tools.

For an initial in depth look at the Speed Editor I would suggest you have a look at Darren Mostyn's video.
