Does Resolve to be installed on the C drive?

PostSun Apr 27, 2025 10:51 pm

I just tried to change the drive when installing DR 20, and it said the highlighted drive (C) doesnt have space, so make space or choose a different destination drive.

Well, I did. I even tried TWO different drives, but it keeps referencing the C drive. Which initiated this post. To be clear, when it says a different destination drive, does it mean another INTERNAL drive? (my assumption is yes, but I dont want to assume)

With many Windows programs there’s a certain amount of space required on the system drive. They probably have some discretion as to how much stuff goes there but I think you need at least some space free on C:

That said I haven’t been on Windows in decades so I might be totally out of date.

i NEVER change an installations preferred choice of drive, which in nearly every case is c:

you could be in for a world of pain trying to install programs to drives other than c: if your c: drive is full, try cleaning it up (start with windows own 'disk clean', which will generally pick up leftover and old windows installations). also, make sure you change the location of windows data folders (eg. docs, pic, video, music to another drive)

if your c: drive is less than 250gb, invest in a new ssd or similar.

That's exactly it. It is less than 250GB. Appears I am just going to have to bite the bullet and get a new one.
