Fusion comp stopped showing on the edit page

PostTue Apr 29, 2025 10:00 am

This is like the 10th time this is happening to me

I would have a fusion comp that I have done loads of work on and it has loads of nodes
The comp would initially behave normal and show on the edit page, but while I continue my editing on my timeline and then come back to the comp, it no longer shows on the viewer of the edit page but shows in fusion page

And when I render the project, it would render without showing the fusion comp

This bugs me a lot

No matter what I do, it still doesn't show
- Even clearing the cache
- Removing the media out and putting it back.
That comp seems corrupted

But when I copy all the nodes in the comp and paste them in a new comp

It magically shows again on screen..........

Please help me on this, I love Davinci and have used it for 4 years, but this issue is making me mad

My first though would be that you have done something in the comp itself, that is time based or cache based that is casing an issue. Your screenshot doesn't show what you actually connected in a way that I could diagnose it, or what settings you used or what is animation like. But 9/10 if not always, something is done in the comp that is causing issues. I would start my troubleshooting there. Beyond that I would have to see actual node structure to know more, but to me it seems that almost certianly that is where the problem is.

What makes me know that it's not from the nodes is that, if I copy that same node tree to another new fusion comp, It then shows as normal without me changing anything in the nodes

You don't give much information to go on. Your screenshots don't reveal anything specific. Go by process of elimination. You said you tried to copy to a new fusion comp. So what is the difference between the two comps? What is your render range and global range between the two?
