Saving a thumbnail

PostMon Apr 28, 2025 5:53 pm

On the Fusion page when I go to save a thumbnail, I get a popup message reading; "You have reached a limitation with DaVinci Resolve - Unlock the complete set of amazing features in DaVinci Resolve Studio like higher than UHD or 60fps timelines and renders, noise reduction, multiple AI-based tools, clean feed computer monitor output, IMF delivery, and multiple Resolve FX. Also immersive audio, superscale, magic mask, remote grading encoder plugins, workflow and asset management integration, and more from only US$299."

I am a Resolve Studio 20.2 user. Version 20.08 Build 27

All I have done is create a timeline on the Cut page, and done nothing in Fusion other than attempt to "Save Image".

Is there a reason this isn't working such as a setting, or a bug in the software?

I got it figured out. Turns out, I downloaded the free version of 20.2, and not the studio version. Once I installed the studio version, the problem was solved.

I didn't know this was a Studio feature either.
Maybe because it uses the UI to ask for the file path...??

You can export Stills as images on the color page.
Right click in the viewer > Grab Still
In the Stills Gallery > right click > Export still...

I can't replicate this here, Chuck, using Resolve Studio 20.0B Build 27 (Mac).
Any chance you might have accidentally installed the Free version? It's an easy/common mistake.
(Fyi, a non-Fusion option is File menu > Export Current Frame as Still)
Cheers
Andy
