Can you default in-point to last split?

PostTue Apr 29, 2025 6:52 pm

I'm getting to grips with the speed editor and the cut page after making the transition from Premiere Pro.

One question I have is whether it's possible to change the default behaviour of the in-position from the start of the timeline to the last split point?

I almost never want to ripple-delete everything from before where I set the out-point, 99% of the time I want to ripple delete from where the last split point I made was. And so having to set the in-point manually each time takes a fair bit of extra time/scrolling.

Is there any way to change this behaviour so that as I'm working through cutting my A-Roll I can more swiftly just hit OUT and then ripple delete rather than having to set the in-point as well every time?

Check out these keyboard commands:
Trim > Ripple > Start to Playhead Ctrl-Shift-[
Trim > Ripple > End to Playhead Ctrl-Shift-]
Maybe assign them to something more comfortable.

Davinci Resolve Studio 20.0B3 Build 38
Windows 10 Pro 22H2
Davinci Resolve Studio 19.1.4 Build 11
Linux Ubuntu Studio 24.04 (Rocky 8.6 Container)
