+1

Using 'transcribe' gave me the desired outcome (i.e. a transcript), vs. 'as nested clip' which just gave me [Blank audio]. They seem to take comparable amounts of time with transcribe being perhaps slightly slower on the same input.

I had the opposite where transcribe just gives me blank audio and transcribe as nested clip gives me a proper transcription. I suspect this is because I'm using multicam footage in my timeline. The problem is that "transcribe as nested clip" does not give the option to create subtitles from transcription.

I don't suppose anyone has any insight into how to get the simple transcribe feature to work so I can create subtitles"

Hoping to +1 this.... I have not found a clear workflow to use transcription (at least with my current process) AND ideally IntelliScript. For example, I typically will have 2 or 3 camera set up to cover 1 or 2 person interview / conversation and then record external audio on Zoom F3. It's not clear whether it's best to transcript the 2 or 3 source clips (from camera, but after syncing audio). Or create Multi-Cam Timeline and THEN transcribe that so that script is attached to multi-cam for eventual edit. And with IntelliScript, you can ONLY even access that option with a right click on the source clip. It's not an option with Compound or MultiCam clips. My dream would be to create Multi-Cam clip, transcribe it, export to text and create a paper edit, then feed it back into IntelliScript. But that won't work. So I can either edit via Multicam in Timeline, or I can open the Transcribe and edit manually to timeline.

Secondly, a request would be to be able to move text in the Transcription Edit page window (via copy and paste) and have it cut (if needed) and move the clip around the timeline to play with the order of the narrative, but using text. If you move a clip, the text will update on the Transcribe Edit page, but I can't move the text first and have the timeline follow (except for deletions).

All in all, just looking for a process to get from 60 minute interview down to 3-4 minute narrative as efficiently as possible. So far, the process has parts that work individually, but they should feel more seamless moving from source clips, to compound, to Multicam - especially if the transcription is based on Meta from Source and therefore it's just tracking the alias (like renaming a clip).
