I am trying to align audio clips using the solo buttons to isolate a track that is not lined up with one that is lined up but the audio keeps disappearing making it impossible to align. I had trouble with my old mac book pro with this, so I bought a new mac mini with 24 GB unified memory and a 4M card, but apparently it doesn't help. I will show two screen shots of the projuct so you can see how many tracks are involved.

Here is a screen shot of the video files. The project is an family project having my children, my wife and myself record an easter hymn and create a video collage. Since my children live far away, they each send a video clip of them recording the hymn using a master track to synchronize everything. I added a bit of reverb on each track as well as a stereo pan to put the voice in order SATB from left to right. The video is placed in the view window such that all the participants can be seen singing or playing at the same time in sync. Other than that there is not much else to slow down the processing.
My question was - why does the audio keep dropping out when I try to align two tracks - making it impossible to align. the last submission showed the audio tracks. I will attach the video tracks so you can see how many tracks are involved.

Another strange thing is happening as well. When I open the project, it indicates that one of the audio/video linked tracks is offline, so I have to import it again. Why does that happen? I haven't changed the name or location of the file that is offline. This happened twice with two different clips.

Hi there,

This has been unanswered for a long while, but for as long as I've used Resolve and multiple version upgrades I've had the same issue on the edit page. Audio tracks randomly drop out during playback, sometimes even at only two tracks, but the more tracks the higher the chance one or more aren't playing properly during any given time.

If OP still reads this, have you found any fixes for it?

Thanks for that information. I was wondering if, instead of soloing two tracks, I muted all but two tracks, would that make any difference in the amount of stuff that was being processed and thus not cause drop out on the audio tracks. Just a guess though. Would anyone care to comment on that approach to solving the problem.

Did you try it?

One thing to note - by default (on the Edit and probably Cut pages) Resolve gives priority to audio playback at the expense of skipping video frames, however, there is an option to play all video frames which will then cause the audio to hiccup assuming Resolve struggles with your source media or applied effects. Any idea if you have selected 'Play all video frames' in the 3-dot menu of the timeline viewer window?

I should add that presumably the Fairlight page would prioritize audio over video but I don't know if this is true so my suggestion above may not apply to your case.
