Hi everyone,
I’ve been using DaVinci Resolve Studio since version 16, and I’ve never encountered major issues. However, after upgrading to DaVinci Resolve 19 and changing my hardware, I’ve started experiencing some frustrating problems. I hope someone here can provide suggestions or solutions.
Problem Description:
Inspector Auto-Switching Issue
Previously, when editing, if I selected a video track, the Inspector would automatically switch to the video page, and if I selected an audio track, it would switch to the audio page.
Now, regardless of whether I select a video or audio track, the Inspector stays on the audio page, and I have to manually switch to the video page whenever I need its functions. This is very inconvenient and disrupts my workflow.
Audio Media Preview Issue
During editing, the software intermittently shows the media preview of an audio clip, even though I am sure I did not double-click on it. This is very annoying and significantly impacts my efficiency.
My Hardware and Operating Systems:
Laptop: Galaxy Book4 Ultra (Windows 11)
Desktop: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D + RTX 5090 + 64GB RAM (Windows 10)
Both computers are running freshly installed, clean versions of Windows, and I installed DaVinci Resolve 19 (including the latest version) on both.
Steps I’ve Tried to Resolve the Issue:
Reinstalling Windows: I wiped and reinstalled Windows, then installed only DaVinci Resolve 19, but the issues persisted.
Switching GPU Drivers: I tried both NVIDIA’s Game Driver and Studio Driver, but neither resolved the problem.
Testing Different Resolve Versions: I tested multiple versions of DaVinci Resolve 19, but the problem still exists.
Summary:
These issues never occurred when I used earlier versions of DaVinci Resolve (such as 16, 17, or 18). However, they appear consistently on both my new laptop and desktop, making it difficult to work efficiently.
Here’s a screen recording of the issues I’m encountering for your reference.

I wanted to try using DaVinci Resolve Studio 20 Beta, but both Beta 1 and Beta 2 crash immediately upon launch and are completely unusable. Even with a fresh, clean installation of Windows 10, the issue remains the same.
I’d greatly appreciate it if anyone with similar experiences or expertise could help provide a solution. Thank you very much!
