Cut sound files in seperate files and store them

PostTue Apr 29, 2025 7:00 pm

Dear readers,

I make one long sound recording with my Zoom recorder. Later on I want this sound to synchronise with my video.

I like to cut the sound file in small pieces and store them on my computer.

How can I do that with Davinci Resolve 19?

Regards and thanks for your help,

Pete

Create a new timeline.
Change the Audio Track type to the the type you recorded.
Import your audio. Drag your audio into the timeline.
Make cuts with the Blade tool.
Or edit the audio the way you want.

(Rename your clips in the timeline:
Select clip
Inspector > File > Metadata > Name: Enter new Name)

Deliver page:
Render Individual Clips
(Every clip on the timeline will be rendered as an individual file)
Video tab: uncheck Export Video.
Audio tab: choose Format
File tab: Filename uses Custom Name, Custom Name: %Clip Name
(% - variables can be usefull for naming multiple files)

You can enable "Use unique Filenames" or the next option to make sure your files don't get overwritten.
If you changed the volume or added any effects you have to check "Render Timeline Effects" in the Video tab.
