Having trouble patching my mic into Davinci resolve 19.1.4

PostMon May 05, 2025 8:23 pm

Hello,

Knee deep in an editing project that requires VO work and was going great in it until yesterday 5/4/25.

While recording, Davinci Resolve stopped recording, though it looked like it was, but no actual waveforms were produced and would not save anything at that point on.

Realized my Intel graphics drivers and other drivers from Intel needed updating, so did that and this morning found out I had an update for Windows 11 Pro, so did that and now I can't get my mic to show up in audio 1, nor audio 2, and the input section of the audio buses show no input, and I can't get it to change.

So now, I've tried several suggestions from several folks, including Jason Yadlovski on YT to no avail. I did check Windows and it sees my mic, a USB based Fifine that I had recently been using just fine until mid afternoon yesterday. I even restarted Davinci to no avail. I can get it to echo through my speakers, but no metering at all being shown on any bus, even when I do, it does not show on the final, let alone issues with patching often resulting in patch error and even when not that and the patch appears to go through fine, still no audio input. I CAN hear what was already recorded just fine. Just the No Input can't change in audio 1/2.

Thanks.

BTW, run Windows 11 Pro, 24H2, Core 7 Ultra, Intel A770 graphics and 64GB of memory, with DR 19.1.4.

Never mind, figured out the issue. A3 had my mic and was then able to resume.

This is a project whereby I do VO over video and still images that I animate with simple pans, zooms etc to animate them and is on the history of where I grew up.

So have already resumed the VO work.

I happen to look at A3 and noticed what was in the input section, my Fifine mic. Eventually, it'll get a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 digital interface and an xlr cable instead of the direct USB connection it enjoys now.

Thanks anyway.
