Crashing a lot - 19.1.4

PostFri May 02, 2025 1:45 am

Hi, I am working on a project, and when I scrub or try to click and trim clips, the system crashes. I already made one video in the same project, it was shorter. I had zero issues. This longer one, I just started having issues with yesterday evening. It is about twice as long, and the only real difference is that I have three clips where I tied to stabilize the footage in Fusion.

I use the render cache and fusion cache. I have deleted the cache twice, and I also created a new timeline and copied the footage over. At first, the new timeline was working without issue but after about 15 minutes, the crashing started happening again. I just tried to attach the log, but the system said that the log extension is not allowed.

You'll have to upload the required info to a file sharing site and post the links.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Unfortunately, that's not what we need. Generate a Resolve diagnostics log from the Resolve Help menu and provide a link to that.

Unfortunately, the crash logs have no crash dump info. Apparently Resolve is crashing so quickly, no log dump data is being generated.

Please provide a link to a Project Export .drp of the "Chico Dry Ice Blasting copy" project. And if it has multiple timelines, is there a particular timeline the crashing seems to happen on?

Hi, I'm sorry I just saw this. I uploaded the project export to that same folder. Here is the link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

Looks like the project loads with the Love Video - 2 timeline selected, and the Edit page selected. And when it crashes, does so almost immediately.

I don't see anything obvious on that timeline to cause a crash.

You are using User cache, which is caching some of the clips on the timeline that have stabilization.

As a test, set the Playback - Render Cache mode to None, save the project and restart Resolve and load the project. Does the crashing persist with cache turned off?

I thought of that and tried it, and it still crashed. It’s only when scrubbing, and on that video and the original one. The copy, which should have read long video 2, but my fat fingers made a typo that I didn’t notice at first, long video, also crashes for the same reason. Interestingly, the Website video, which uses the same source footage, does not crash.

Is there a particular area of the timeline you can scrub in and cause a crash?
