Playback stops when hover over audio clip in pool

PostWed May 07, 2025 12:53 am

I start playback on the timeline on the Edit page. Without clicking, I move my mouse to hover over an audio clip in the media pool (I'm working on a dual monitor setup). Playback stops. That is unexpected and seems wrong.

DR Studio beta 3.

I see now that it stops even if it's NOT an audio clip. The hovered clip (audio and/or video) is being put into the left (source) window, and playback is coming to a stop. The stopping is not desirable behavior. I haven't clicked anything - just moved my mouse around. Even if I clicked into different media pool bins to browse for an asset of interest, I don't want the playback to stop until I tell it to ('k', or click on stop, etc.), a la v19.

Disable Live Media Preview in the Source Viewer menu.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
