How to export in Half Resolution?

PostFri May 09, 2025 7:05 am

Hi Forum folks,

I am working on a project and finding the "half-resolution" preview in DaVinci Resolve surprisingly meets the style and aesthetics I am expecting, for its rough and vintage texture. Are there any methods to export the timeline through the "half resolution" set-up (not sure if it's the right way to express it), or any recommendations on how to maintain this texture while exporting it in a high-res format, i.e. 1080p or even 4k DCP?

Thank you for your patience and whatever solutions you could offer!
Wish we all get the image we want.

Maybe the Analog or JPEG Damage effects?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

If you are talking about timeline playback resolution set to value of half. Its like taking a screenshot of your viewer and resizing it by half a number of pixels. In fusion add resize tool and set it to be half of your original resolution and that is what you will have for that texture while the rest of the project will remain the same,
