All media are "offline" after import of project

PostSun May 11, 2025 11:56 pm

I'm doing some effects work for a friend, so she exported an entire project (with media files). I'm confident that media files are indeed present, because the thing is 4 TB.

I have now imported this from the .dra file using Project Manager; but upon opening it, I find all media are offline. Looking at the entries in the bins, I see that they have hard-coded paths like

/Volumes/Desk SSD/A010C0T7/Clip/A012C009_250209L5/A012C009_250209L5.mxf

I have no such volume. This is obviously inappropriate; you can't hard-code an absolute path from the root level of the computer and expect it to work. Why did this happen, and what's the expected procedure when exporting and importing projects?

Thanks!

I guess I'll answer this myself for anyone who finds it in a search later.

I think I may have imported rather than restored the project. I just did it again using restore, and everything seemed fine.
