Gallery folder location

PostThu May 08, 2025 2:32 pm

At first I set my desktop location for a project then change It for a subfolder now I get a .gallery folder created in my desktop for no reason I changed the backup files folders but I can't find where this folder location is to change It for the subfolder.

If you go to Preferences/System/Media Storage it will list your storage locations. Gallery stills and Cache normally go to the first listed location.

If you're having Gallery stills issues, check these:

1) in Project Setup, go to Master Settings -> Working Folders, and change Proxy Generator Location, Cache File Location, and Gallery Stills Location to the correct path. Don't trust what's there -- delete it and re-establish it just to be sure.

2) also in Project Setup, under Capture, change "Save Clips to" and add the correct path. [I had failed to do this, even though I don't use Capture, and was getting error messages.]

3) under User Prefs -> System -> Media Storage, delete all the Media Storage Locations, then re-enter all the attached drives you need, starting with the one used for Gallery Stills and Cache files at the very top.

Save your Prefs changes, exit Resolve, and relaunch. Now, "in theory" everything should work fine. It goes without saying that drive permissions and drive capacity should be good.
