* solved * have to set CacheFileLocation each start

PostThu May 08, 2025 7:43 am

Hey there,

every time I start Resolve Beta 20.3 on Win 11 I am asked to set the location for Cache again. I also tried to update the Default-settings, but no success.

Tryed to attach log, but upload failed several times - sorry!

What's your storage setup, Thomas?

Where are you putting the Cache?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Thank you @Charles Bennett for making this clear. I will try that.

@Jim Simon: I have (and always had) the Cache and gallery-files set to an internal SSD - E:\

I upgraded from Resolve 19 to 20.3 directly. Did all AI-Upgrades. Now, whwn trying to open an alreafy existant project, I have to re-assign the Cache-Location. the Cache-location in the error-message points to a non-existant drive (I:\...).

Update: When starting a new project, the error-Message does not show up. When I then try to open a older project, the Message appears.

I think it is not a superbad bug, but probably worth mentioning...

OK.

Make sure E: is listed as the first entry under Preferences>System>Media Storage.

(And then change any projects to that same location that may need it.)
