Environment: DaVinci Resolve Studio 20.0b3 (Windows)
Bug Description:
When rendering a project with a specific audio bus selected (e.g., a 7.1 Bus), DaVinci Resolve incorrectly defaults to using a timeline audio track instead of the chosen bus. This issue occurs when the render output is configured to use an MP4 container and the FLAC audio codec is selected for the audio stream within that MP4.
Steps to Reproduce:
Create or open a project with an audio Bus configured for 7.1 surround sound.
In the Deliver page, configure the export settings as follows:
Set the Format (overall container) to MP4.
Under the Audio tab settings for this MP4 export, select FLAC as the Codec.
(This applies whether "Export Video" is checked or not, as long as the MP4 container is chosen with FLAC audio. Video content itself can be anything or empty).
For the audio output source, explicitly choose the 7.1 configured Bus.
Start the render.
Observed Result:
As demonstrated in the video, upon starting the render, DaVinci Resolve automatically switches the audio source from the selected 7.1 Bus to a timeline audio track. Consequently, the rendered MP4 file contains audio from that timeline track, not from the intended 7.1 Bus.
Expected Result:
The rendered output media should use the audio from the explicitly selected 7.1 Bus, respecting the user's render settings.
Workaround:
In the Deliver page, select the FLAC container and FLAC audio codec.
Choose the 7.1 Bus as the audio source.
Disable video output (uncheck "Export Video").
Start the render. This will produce a 7.1 FLAC audio file.
Use an external tool like FFmpeg to mux the original video stream (if any) with this rendered 7.1 FLAC audio file into the desired MP4 or MKV container.

I Hope DR can support MIDI Clips, VST3i, TTS even DR is already so great to create 4K HDR 60FPS Dolby Atmos on my 13900K + RTX 4090 + 32GB*2 DDR5 6666MHz + 2T*2 7GB R/W SSD + PA32UCG.
