I just noticed that scrubbing the timeline in the edit tab is inconsistent. What do I mean? Dragging the play head back and forth over a small section is buttery smooth and fast... but only for a few seconds and then it's slow. It also slows much sooner if I scrub through a more of the timeline.
I have ProRes422 footage from a Insta360 studio export. It's 29.97 fps, 1440p, stereo. I'm using a 4K timeline. In the color tab scrubbing is very smooth. Same with the media tab. It makes no difference if the color edits are bypassed or not. It also doesn't matter if I use a proxy, or set the timeline playback to full or 1/2 or 1/4.
I deleted all the clips from the timeline and put them back in. All good. Put a title in, still good. Made color corrections. No issues. AI Dialog Leveler added - there it is. That slows everything down. Is this normal or expected? Anyone else experiencing this? CPU, GPU, I/O are all low: ~10% CPU & 40% GPU usage when scrubbing with the audio leveler off, about the same with it on. Disk activity is next to nothing.
System specs:
OS: Win 11 Pro
CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X
RAM: 32GB DDR4 (~14GB in use)
Scratch Disk: Samsung 990 Pro - on PCIe Gen4 slot benchmarked at ~7GB/s read and write
GPU: nVidia RTX3060 12GB with studio driver 576.02
Davinci Resolve Studio Beta version 20.0B build 38
