Audio dissapearing and Davinci Resolve 20 beta 3 crashing

PostThu May 15, 2025 9:03 am

Hello!

I have encountered a bug in the new Davinci Resolve Studio 20 Beta 3 (it occured in beta 2, we updated and it remains in beta 3).

Problem: There is a segment (about 30 seconds) on one timeline and there are a lot of weird things happening with this segment:

1. If I play through it, in the middle audio dissapears and when that happens none of the audio is working on that timeline (before playing through, everything before segment and after worked fine). There also will be no audio showing up on the metering.

2. If I have played through the segment or done anything with it, I can't get out of the timeline anymore. If I try to switch timeline after doing something with the segment it loads for like 10-20 seconds and then Davinci is not responding and I have to force quit the application to be able to do anything.

Details and what I have tried: The project is in the cloud. Same problem occures with two different computers (Mac M2 Air and M1 Pro Max). I tried to copy the segment elsewhere, duplicate timeline, disable some parts of the segment but without results.

Ofcourse I can just rebuild the segment but it is still conserning.

Is there a way to save the segment I have edited and is there a way to prevent it from happening again to me or someone else?
