I lost my audio after minute 34 V Beta 20

PostFri Apr 18, 2025 12:07 am

Hello fellows....

I am editing a video and the audio only works until the 34th minute. The output signal is working but no audio is coming out of the horns after the 34th minute. I am using version 20 Beta Studio. Is it because of this? Shall I reinstall my Studio 19? I'm close to going crazy!!!

Thanks in advance

I have used different audios, previously reviewed, and all of them are the same.

Please add v20 beta in your title, and also maybe move it to the beta forum?

cheers.

Update

I just rendered the video and the result shows the complete audio, however in the edit line the sound disappears from the 34th minute. Regardless of the video/audio that I put, from the 34th minute the audio fades out and the output signal continues showing the output levels.

Are you by some chance using a nested timeline? Or maybe compound clip?

Check for any accidental keyframes and automation in fairlight at around that time. Also does it happen as well in a new project/timeline?

Ok great idea Kruno.... I will check if there are any accidental keyframes and automation around that time, although I think not.

No.... if I create a new timeline the problem does not appear. In any case, I would like to know what I did to make that problem happen in the original line.

I will check and let you know

thanks

In that case, you can export a DRP. That's all the information minus the media

For the record, I discovered my issue.

This was the relevant part:
I used Audio Assistant on this project.

Audio Assistant added Fairlight Automation (I had no idea about that) to my audio and faded out the audio track at the end of the video (using the A-A Level). The problem started after I inserted an additional 30sec. clip into my video. Because the Automation was applied on the track (not on the clip), its position stayed absolute.

I discovered the cause of the problem by accident and I believe there's no visual indication about having Automation applied.

What specific audio format are you using? How are the Clip Attributes set up for audio?

How are your Proxies and Render Cache configured? If you turn both off, I would bet that it bypasses the cache and just plays the actual audio from the timeline. Note that I've found that Resolve works more predictably with 48kHz/24-bit WAV files, and if you use anything else, there's more CPU stress happening (since it has to decode/re-encode and convert). Compressed audio (MP3, H.264, MP4, etc.) can be difficult as well. Conflicting frame rates, like a 24fps timeline with 25fps source material, is another potential obstacle.
