OpenCL Error with NVIDIA, suddenly freezes and crashes

Just installed DaVinci Resolve 20, booted it up and it gave me an error of

"DaVinci Resolve is using OpenCL for image processing because the installed NVIDIA driver does not support CUDA 12.8. Upgrade your NVIDIA driver for optimal performance. Alternatively you can manually select OpenCL processing mode to run in the current configuration"

This was attached with "Quit" and "Update Configuration" buttons. I checked my drivers, they are up to date. When I tried to click ANYWHERE on the popup, it simply freezes, does nothing, and stops responding, forcing me to close it.

No clue what to do here. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do not use OpenCL with an Nvidia card. You will not be happy.

You need an NVIDIA driver that supports CUDA 12.8.
Depending on your platform, this means version 570.something or newer.

As Stephen says, you need Nvidia driver version 570.65 or newer for Resolve 20. Drivers are available at

I've installed the latest driver, and I've gotten past the error and I'm at the project select screen. However, similar to earlier, it just freezes and stops responding upon starting, forcing me to close it.

What GPU do you have?

I have an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER.
