First of all, I am quite an inexperienced user in Resolve, so I may not be using the software properly.
Recently I was tasked to perform some interviews (more like vox pops) and what I/we (the client) wanted was to have final individual files of the questions and answers, rather than a long file with various questions and answers.
My audio consisted of a couple of tracks whereby I micced up the interviewer and interviewee separately, so that I might more easily control the volume levels and enhance separately depending upon speaker etc.
I used the Render>Individual Clips feature and made sure Audio was ticked and selected, but it appears to use Audio 1 as its output instead of Bus1. I noticed Single Clip gives Output Track 1 and Bus1 as an option (which is what I needed).
So to get around this I had to duplicate the timeline multiple times (which kept my Audio 1 and Audio 2 EQ effects and enhancements intact) and then copy/paste the relevant question and answer clips to each timeline. I ended up with about 11 different timelines, just so that I could render the clips with Bus1!
There must be a better way that I am not familiar with. Either something like merging Audio 1 and Audio 2 in either the Edit or Fairlight page to becoming essentially the same output as Bus1 and then go back to rendering as Individual Clips (as long as this merger of Audio 1 and Audio 2 can be undone should I need to retouch the audio!).
Or perhaps something like a marker on the timeline, before each new clip, that when using Single Clip it will work from that single timeline but cut the output into being different files.
Advice please!
TIA
