“Fit” Scaling Slightly Overflows Frame Edges

PostTue May 20, 2025 5:43 am

Hi,

When I scale down high-resolution footage (e.g. ~60##x4###) to create 2K proxy files (e.g. ~20##x1###) in DaVinci Resolve, I make sure to preserve the original aspect ratio exactly.
However, even with the timeline’s mismatched resolution setting set to “fit,” the image slightly overflows the frame — about 0.1 pixels on each side (top, bottom, left, and right).

I tried adjusting the Scaling of Retime and Scaling manually per clip using the Inspector, but it didn’t solve the issue.

Is there a way to prevent this tiny overflow when using “fit” with matching aspect ratios?

Thanks in advance!
And apologies if my explanation is unclear—I’m not a native English speaker.
