bluetooth headphones - line delay in Audio Bus?

PostTue Jan 24, 2023 3:21 pm

I am editing recently on the road via bluetooth headphones (sony xm3) and have obviously a latency in the audio bus. As I now work on some critical sound design in fairlight I would need the sound and video sync up perfectly: Is there a line - delay I could apply in the Audio Master Channel for playback? that just changes the audio / video latency by a few ms? Or is there any other way to do this? Thank you :)

There are settings for this in the User Preferences, IIRC.

bluetooth headphones - line delay in Audio Bus?

PostFri Oct 04, 2024 4:29 pm

Been having this issue for years and now trying to find the initial report of it. This will do for now.

The short version is audio is delayed in Resolve but not in other programs like Preview, Quick View, or perhaps most notably for here, Blackmagic Raw Player.

Surely one shouldn’t have to fiddle in settings to make this work properly when all the other apps do it automatically just fine.

WORKAROUND UPDATE: I’ve been playing with the settings and, while the delay isn’t directly changeable, Resolve comes close to playing in sync when I set the playback buffer size to the max of 4096 which sets the delay to 85.3 ms - at least on my system.

Hi

I'm also getting this issue, it's quite annoying. I have used the 4096 setting workaround thanks which makes it more bearable but 8192 would probably give it the righy sync, or even better a setting to allow the user to delay the audio
