Edit Transcription file and reimport to DaVinci

PostFri May 23, 2025 8:46 pm

I am trying to find out if you can take a transcription file that was generated within DaVinci and exported out of DaVinci then the text file was edited to build a cohesive story and use this new edited text file/transcription file to create a new timeline edit. Meaning I want the edited transcription file to be imported back into DaVinci and a timeline assembled based on this edited transcription file. This would be a huge help in that I can send the transcript to a writer who can then rearrange and edit it, send me back the file and I can import that into DaVinci and have an assembled timeline ready to fine tune and add broll. Is this possible?

The version 20 Beta has something you might find interesting.

AI IntelliScript: Automatically generates a timeline from a written script. By aligning spoken dialogue with video clip transcriptions, it places shots in the correct sequence—perfect for documentaries, interviews, and narrative videos.

Thank you for the fast reply. That does sound very interesting and potentially the solution I’m looking for. Do you have a link to the steps necessary to try this? Thanks!

I haven't looked too closely myself. But one assumes the guru's on YouTube have something up by now. ;)
