How to apply fusion nodes to several clips?

PostTue Mar 29, 2022 9:41 pm

Hello I was hoping I could just copy and paste fusion nodes to all nodes like I did with copy paste attributes. But I still didn't find out how.

I have 202 clips and I have two different nodes setup so one is for 101 and another is for another 101. It's nasty to copy&paste every single clips (copy all nodes, go to next clip, select all, delete, paste, next clips, select all, delete, paste, next clip...).

Isn't there a way to setup a single page with nodes and then link several clips to that nodes. And later if customer want me to change somethin in the nodes I only have to update single node page.

How can I achieve that?

Best regards

To copy fusion nodes from one clip to multiple clips:

1. Go to the fusion page and make sure that the "Clips" panel on the upper left side is enabled
2. Select all the clips you want to paste the nodes
3. Find the clip you want to copy from and press on it with the middle mouse button

Alternatively, can you create your Fusion comp on an Adjustment Clip? Adjustment Clips apply to every clip underneath it in the timeline, then you can extend the Adjustment Clip to cover over multiple clips and you can easily copy/paste the Adjustment Clip in the timeline.

The middle mouse button paste technique stopped working in version 18. Any fixes in the works?

Middle mouse button paste still works in version 18 (18.1.2 build 6 to be exact)

I would have the exact same question.

How to CTRL+C/CTRL+V a fusion comp to one clip to another.
I have done a CTRL+C Paste Attribute and check ON color correction + fusion effects.
The color Correction is copied correctly but not the Fusion graph.

Any idea on what i am doing wrong.

I am on 19.4 by the way.

Cheers

In Fusion, you can open thumbnails of your clips. Then, you can copy nodes by middle-clicking on a clip, similar to how you copy grades in the Color page. You can also copy most nodes as text and paste them. Additionally, you can use Fusion reference compositions, which synchronize clips based on a reference. Each of these methods has advantages and disadvantages.
