AI Audio Mix Bug

PostThu May 29, 2025 6:55 pm

I'm reporting this discovery. I was working on the Public Beta of Version 20. I produced a 2 minute video and used the AI Audio Mix feature. It did a pretty good job...not perfect, but it definitely saved me time vs doing all in the old manual method. I moved a few audio clips to different tracks and adjusted some levels and I was done.

Then, later it turned out that I had to fix a misspelled title and make a few additions to the project. Everything worked smoothly. I altered the timeline and fixed the tiltle. But when I finished it up I came up with an audio mystery. The final audio track, which had played perfectly before, now faded out slowly several seconds before the end of the Timeline. I looked at the tracks and played them on Fairlight, and the same thing happened EVEN THOUGH NO SLIDERS MOVED AT ALL!

I finally realized that the changes I had made in the timeline had made the whole timeline a few seconds longer. So I decided to try running the AI audio mix again, and that fixed everything. But I could find no way to fix the fade out WITHOUT REMIXING THE ENTIRE PROJECT. Since it was only 2 minutes long, that wasn't a big deal, but for a larger project I expect that could be a pain, as the remix contained a few things that I now needed to fix all over again. So be warned...
