Mouse pointer misaligned hovering over Effects list (R20)

PostFri May 30, 2025 6:35 pm

Upgrading to Studio 20 from Studio 20 Beta 3 on my Apple M4, I find the mouse cursor is not aligning properly when hovering over the Effects side bar list. The cursor only highlights/activates a button when it's pointing at the extreme top edge of the button; when pointing at the centre of a button, the button underneath is highlighted and activated. Particularly irritating when trying to preview an effect!

Further information I've found since posting above topic. The misaligned mouse pointer only happens in a very specific situation which is when in the Edit page on first opening Resolve Studio on a dual monitor setup (in my case on an Apple Studio M4). If you change to the Cut page then back to the Edit page the problem disappears. There is no misalignment in single monitor mode or on any of the other modes e.g. Fusion, Color etc.

Apologies, I did a reply giving more details but it appears not to have been posted.

After a few further tests I found this is a bug that occurs in specific circumstances. It happens only when Resolve starts up in the Edit page and I stay on the page and use the Effects list. Closing then opening the edit list doesn't solve the problem. If I change to any other page then back to Edit, the problem goes away, the mouse cursor works properly. Starting Resolve into another page then changing to Edit, again the problem doesn't appear.

Sorry Jim, I have been replying to your post but my replies are not being posted. I'll try again.

This error I have now found after doing more testing happens in very specific circumstances. I have a dual monitor setup. When I start up Resolve into the Edit page and move the mouse over to the Effects list, that's when I get the strange misaligned cursor issue. If I then change page then move back to Edit, the problem goes away. None of the other pages have this problem, only the Edit page.
