A new project in version 20 is automatically created

PostThu May 29, 2025 12:18 pm

After upgrading to version 20 of Davinci Resolve Studio, a new project is automatically created in Project Manager. When you select an already existing project, the program will save the empty project. Unfortunately, this didn’t happen in the beta version. What should you do to revive the old project without creating a new one?

There has always been an "Untitled Project" box in the Project Manager. Opening the Project Manager does not automatically create and save a new project. You either have to double click on the Untitled Project box or click on the New Project box, name it and click Save.
Double clicking on an already saved project will open it, just as it has always done. If another project is already open you will be asked if you wish to save it or not before closing it.
