Configuration required to run Resolve 20

PostTue Jun 03, 2025 12:10 am

Hello,
I tried to install version 20 of the software, but it said that my Nvidia graphics needed to be updated. My computer currently has an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 and Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630. It has 32GH RAM and an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU. What could I do to be able to use version 20? Thank you very much.

Go to the Nvidia driver download page to get an up to date driver. You will find it here.

Well, a 1650 is truly small for Resolve. Besides the speed, I'd imagine it has 4GB of VRAM which is VERY LITTLE for Resolve.

Unless your projects are VERY SIMPLE and no more than FHD, I'd recommend upgrading the GPU. If you are on a budget, you can get a 20 or 30 series for not much. Make sure it's got 8GB of VRAM or more.

And as Charles said, chances are Resolve is just complaining about the drivers - but that won't change the above :)
DaVinci Resolve Studio 19.1.3
Ryzen 5700X - 32GB RAM - 4TB USB4 SSD - RTX 3070 8GB
Windows 10 22H2
Mac Mini M4 16GB - 256GB

Build a new Desktop with the best parts you can afford. ;)

Intel 12th Gen and nVidia RTX are good baselines.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
