Color Correction Nodes not working on 2 out of 30 clips

I can correct almost all of my scenes with the nodes I add.

Only a few the color correction does nothing. I can change lift, gamma, gain, contract - no change in the picture.

I can copy in another node's settings - no change.

The button that deactivates the color correction is NOT on, the node is active.

The only thing I can see is that the frame on the color page is black and I have to advance the cursor to get teh image.

but I have a black frame where the correction is working.

It's a serial node that has no effect. It's even that in one of those clips on the color page I have actually two different shots - no idea why this happened. ON one shot the correction works, on the other it does not.

What secret setting could I have overlooked and why does it only affect 2 out of 30 clips?

One more detail: the thumbnail shows the correction, but not the image in the viewer.

check if the key for that node is "0"

I have taken a screenshot of the key settings of the non-performing node.

I have taken two screenshots, one with the node color correction (which I overdid to see if there was any effect) visible on the thumbnail but nothing on the frame.

The other with the viewer showing a completely different picture than the thumbnail....

You have other clips on a layer higher than the selected ones. If you want see the lower layered clips, turn off the visibility of the higher layer, probably v2. On the left side of the mini-timeline, or on the edit page. Or does that higher layer have an matte or alpha, or maybe an adjustment clip?

Sometimes one has really the obvious in one's blind spot and I'm very glad you pointed that out to me.

I'll never overlook that small rectangle any more

Looks like I have to stop keeping videos on two layers/tracks as it confuses post production but to bring it to one track/layer once the cut is done and color/effects processing starts.
