audio Ok in edit page, not in export

PostSat Jun 07, 2025 10:47 am

Hi

Lately I made a recording from a live gig with 3 4k webcams. The audio was a mixed multitrack from the soundman (48k 24bit wav)
The videos I preprocessed by converting them to quicktime .mov via XMedia Recode.
Some of the files are 25, 29.97 and 30 FPS. The project is 30FPS. (I changed this to 25 and 29.97 but no change)
then I imported them in a timeline and synced them (visual on sound, so the lyrics were lip-sync). then multicam. This worked rather well.
Then I edited the whole movie, cut back from 1 hr to 10 minutes (1920x1080HD). All still well.
In the export page the audio and video are in sync.

Then I exported the timeline. In this exported file the sound was out of sync. Not on all places the same, sometimes bit before, sometimes after. Not really much, but especially the when singer is not lip-sync the resulst shows bad.
I tried multiple export formats (youtube, h264, h265) and audio frame rates like Linear PCM/48k/24bit, but resulting all in the same issue.

I also created a new timeline from the multicam, same result.
proxy handdling: prefer, playback resolution to quarter does not differ

I have an almost new, powerfull computer: Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, NVidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER SOLID 16GB, 64GB DDR5-6400, plenty of SSD space. Win11 with latest updates, Davinci Resolve Sudio 20 build 49. The timeline is not really heavy. No fusion, no heavy filters.

How is it possible that all shows well in the edit page but not in the export?

Seems to be fixed by:
Playback > Delete Render Cache > All
And then exporting it again resulted in a file without the sync issues!!!
