Hi guys, hope everyone is well.
I have a quick question and would be extremely grateful if anyone had any advice.
I’m trying to use magic mask in fusion, when it starts rendering it’s almost 20 FPS and then quickly makes its way down to around 2-4fps and maintains that Speed.
Whereas in the colour section it starts at around 7 FPS and ramps up to about 20-ish and maintains it (on the same clip.)
I realise that it’s quicker in colour due to the different ways they allocate resources but I feel like I should be getting better Speed due to my hardware.
I realise that there are workarounds but I’d rather do this in fusion if I can and work out why it is not performing like it should (if that’s the case)
I had this using 19 and all of the beta updates and now on the newest studio 20.
All of my drivers are up to date, my clip is 4k and the timeline is setup to match.
I had my Neuro engines optimised when you could on the previous versions and every version I’ve had the same issue.
To add to this, I even tried with my rtx 3070 and my 5070ti together and I was getting similar speeds.
The most confusing part is that when I look on my performance tab it’s not utilising much of my hardware?
I will add…
I have a couple of damaged pins on the motherboards CPU slot.
So I’m not sure if maybe the pc is maxing out but thinks it’s using less hardware than it is or maybe it’s not utilising everything efficiently because of the pins?
If what I am getting is right for my hardware then it is what it is.
If I should be getting more but the pins are the issue, I’ll get another motherboard.
These clips have no other effects, they are the raw clip added to timeline and then I’m straight into fusio to add magic mask..
This is my setup.
Palit GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GamingPro (16GB GDDR7/PCI Express 5.0/ MHz/28000MHz)
Crucial Pro DDR5 RAM 128GB Kit (2x64GB) 5600MHz, Intel XMP 3.0.
MSI MAG B760 TOMAHAWK WIFI Motherboard
Intel® Core™ i9-12900KF Desktop Processor 16 (8P+8E) Cores up to 5.2 GHz Unlocked LGA1700 600 Series Chipset12th gen
750w pdu
Windows 11 home
Footage iPhone 16 pro max: 4k pro res 30fps.
As you can see from picture 1 (in fusion)
GPU Utilisation is 5%
GPU Memory
13.1/79.9 GB
Dedicated GPU memory 12.0/16.0 GB
Shared GPU memory
1.1/63.9 GB
What I find confusing is how utilisation is only 5% but I’m using
12/16gb
So does that mean that I am using 5% of the cuda cores but 75% of my ram?
Because when I added my rtx3070 to the mix thinking the ram was the issue it barely used any of the 8gb
Of the rtx 3070.
And then the colour page has the opposite affect where apparently I’m using 84%
Of my card but only 3.6 out of 16GB
Utilisation 84%
GPU Memory
4.3/79.9
Dedicated GPU memory
3.6/16.0 GB
Shared GPU memory
0.7/63.9 GB
