V2 V3 etc tracks not working in edit page but work in Cut

For some reason when I add tracks in Edit page now they dont work . They are there but when I click on them the red square line doesn't appear. I've clicked and unclicked the selector and lock icons to no effect.
Adding additional tracks works in the Cut page.
I uninstalled DV 19 and reinstalled it to try and fix the problem to no avail.
I downloaded DV 20 only to find my laptop hardware doesn't support it. Adding additional tracks was never a problem before.

Any help really appreciated.

In the Edit Timeline track header area, Track Source / Destination controls and indicators depend on the clip currently loaded in the Source Viewer... for example, if you have an audio only clip loaded in the Source Viewer then you will not have any Video Track destination controls.

Hi Andy thanks very much for your response. For some reason the destination controls for V2 A2 and additional track destination controls ie V 3 A3 etc are not working in the edit page. The source clip has both audio and video.
The problem started I think when I selected all the clips in the Edit page timeline and moved them 2 seconds to the right to make room for a fade up from black at the start of the video. Somehow I think the file is corrupted . I still have the same problem with any new project I create in DR

Hmmm ... I wonder if you're perhaps talking about the change in track destination control behaviour introduced in Resolve 19.1? In previous versions you needed only click a video track destination to patch it... but in 19.1 the ability to patch from patch multi-track video sources was added. The patch behaviour was consequently changed to require a right-click on the track destination control (which brings up context menu to choose and assign a source a video track).

I suspect that's what's tripping you up... but if not, perhaps post a link to a screen recording or phone video showing the problem... that might make the specific issue you're experiencing a bit clearer.

Hey Andy . Yes DR 19 on Windows. I have just found a workaround using a key board shortcut by using alt 2 to select destination track 2 to bring in a source clip to track 2. Still puzzled as to why the mouse wont let me select a destination track anymore

Just edited my post above Mick ... think I might have guessed the problem. What specific version are you running? (I thought they fixed the basic click to patch issue in 19.1.3, but I may be misremembering).

Aha... I'd recommend you get yourself to the support page and grab the update to 19.1.4 (dated 21st March), should sort out that problem for you, and more besides.
