File name in Deliver Page

PostMon Jun 16, 2025 10:42 am

I have recently upgraded to Studio version of Davinchi. I am just starting to understand understand all the features it has. I have attempted to convert a file to Mp4 in multiple files to determine largest file size available to burn to dvd. I don't seem to be able to change name of file before adding to Render Queue. While I can hilight section to change file name for each file before adding to file Queue, it will not let me create new File Name to keep files organized.

Any help would be appreciated as to what I am doing wrong.

Part 1: Setting the filename per timeline section (assuming either the entire timeline or between In and Out points are set here

Part 2: I'm not sure what you mean by "While I can hilight section to change file name for each file before adding to file Queue, it will not let me create new File Name to keep files organized." Screenshots or screen recordings help ;)

In File Name section I am unable to CHANGE file name, even though I have clicked on that section and word Is highlighted as if it is ready for you to change the name of the file. When I type in a new File Name word remains the same.
I am attempting to render on premiere section of Deliver page. Sorry I didn't think to have that information in first post.

How do I do that? I was just attempted to change file name as indicated but am still unable to find correct section that will alow me to change name. I would think it would be right at the top, near the file name box.

I have tried to do that. It stays grayed out for me in the premiere section of the Deliver page. I am currently attempting a test in the generic section. I just hope file is recognized in Adobe. Mp4 under main h294 section doesn't seem to be compatable with adobe.

I have also learned that it doesn't tell you what the file name will be in the render section on the right. Now that I know that I am changing my testing rendered files. I do thank you for your input. Learning curve for this program will be a long one.

You mean you are exporting using the built in 'Premiere XML' preset? If I remember correctly, that is an 'individual clips' roundtrip workflow preset (for exporting previously ungraded media back to Premeire, post grade). With individual clips there is no single filename, each clip will effectively follow the original clip name, with optional prefix or suffix.

Correct on export, thank you for confirming that at this time export in that output is limited, which may be the issue with file naming. It may be that I will need to render out master file, then import that file and export that file in premiere. An extra step but still faster than creating file in premiere. I just need to make sure file size is small enough to fit on DVD. It would be nice if we could limit file size more selectivly.
