Feature Request: Ping pong option

PostThu Jun 19, 2025 2:40 pm

In Fusion, you can add another video to your merge, and the option is there to loop and the option to reverse, but not both in sequence.

It would be great if there was also an option to ping-pong, so it would play forward, then backward and loop. This is useful for animations where you want a smooth transition from first to last frame where people won't notice a jump cut as it loops.

Currently I have to create a new video each time by putting it in a timeline, copying it, reversing it, then joining together and saving out as a video twice the length in order to get the same result.

You can try to use the "Clip Looper" generator I made a year ago,
it has an option to ping-pong the video

Hi, Thanks, but I don't think it's what I have in mind. I need to isolate one node and have that loop to add to another node

You can just add a Time Stretcher node after MediaIn and in the curve editor set Loop to Ping-pong.

I tried what you said but I can find no such option anywhere. Not in keyframes or the node or it's settings

Wow Thanks for that Dude!
Talk about take 10 steps to get to it though. That's typical Fusion I guess. I still think it would be a nice option to just put in a place that's intuitive where you don't need a notebook to follow.

The other problem with time stretcher is that it seems to use crazy resources when curving the time. Even speed warp better in the edit page is faster to run.

Thank you for taking the time to enlighten me not just with the option but with how splines and time stretcher work. I couldn't get my head around that before now
